Is it just me, or is the age between 11 and 15 just one big douch-bag phase for kids? It's cool to be completely and unreasonably rude...to everyone. They're mean to each other, to younger kids, to older kids, to their parents and ANYONE who could be construed as any type of authority. They're basically a bunch of anarchists.
I have rarely had a good experience with a junior high child, even when I was one. really it's 6th grade through 9th grade though. Because 6th graders think they're the shit because they're the oldest kids in the elementary school. Junior High kids are just douche-bags, and 9th graders think they're the shit because they're in high school.
I know our generation was bad at that age too, just like every generation, but I feel like they're getting worse. Or maybe it's just the one's I've encountered, but for instance... I was at the store the other day and there was a little posse of pre-teens and every. other. word. was a curse or something else offensive. It's like they learn what they aren't supposed to do/say and then they make every effort to do/say it as much as humanly possible. I could not believe the things they were saying...loud enough for anyone around them to hear and start judging their parents. It kind of makes me want to home-school my child through those years.
I might add more to this rant later, but I have to go to work. ugh. I'm going to be late as it is...it's just so... mind numbing.
Agreed. I live with one and I know what assholes they can be. I know for a fact that they're getting worse. I think the biggest problem is the zero respect for authority. And they don't care about anything! They curse all the time because they have no respect and they just don't care. I mean, I don't want to sound like I think I'm 70 or something, but it's different nowadays.
